tranholmen guest-house

A compact guest house designed to balance traditional Swedish architecture with a more contemporary spatial expression. By embedding part of the volume into the terrain, the project creates the experience of two perceived floors while remaining within the attefallshus height restrictions. A continuous wooden lattice wraps the house, creating shifting layers of transparency, shadow, and movement. Inside, carefully framed views, integrated furniture, and soft daylight make the compact interior feel open, calm, and generous.

"The façade changes as you move

Wooden lattices create shifting depth and transparency”

"Small spaces made to feel generous

Light, views, and built-in elements expand the interior experience”
